What space does the pelvis inhabit? What role does it play in organizing the body in movement, communicating with other bodies, asserting its own space and boundary, and relating to context? Every body, every culture, inhabits the pelvis differently, among habits, adaptations, histories and possibilities.
In this workshop we will explore and dance the pelvis somatically, anatomically, bio-mechanically and symbolically, solo, in dialogue with space and other bodies. The axis syllabus, contact improvisation and somatics will be the lenses of this research.
From the point of view of movement organization, the pelvis is implicitly connected to the behavior of the lower limbs: this connection has a direct effect on the spine and plays a significant role in the management of the whole body, influencing the way weight is handled, change of tone, adaptability, effort, and impact.
Moments of analysis, deep listening and dynamism will alternate. Theory, application, reflection and sharing will be articulated in order to access the complexity of the body in a titled and accessible way.

This training is for dancers, actors, artists, and researchers who wish to nurture an investigation of the body in art and performance, enriching their somatic vocabulary and movement practice. For all people, even those with little experience, who wish to encounter the body in terms of knowledge and research, in a safe and non-competitive group field.
Salotto Somatico program orient to a multifaceted view of the body, celebrating a dialogue between art, health and life.
Yiskah is a dancer, teacher, performer, researcher in the field of movement and somatic languages. Somatic practitioner in bio-natural disciplines, craniosacral biodynamics and mindfulness. She trained in contemporary and African dance. She has studied and worked in Italy, Europe, Africa in a dance and theater companies, social projects for people with disabilities and as a street artist. It is in the process toward axis syllabus certification.
BIO complete
Ilaria met ballet as a child, which accompanied her until her twenties along with contemporary dance.
In her teens she met Marina De Stefani, creator of DanzEspressiva - Metodo De Stefani ©. This method explores the boundary between sensibility and psyche in an expressive and choreographic research where movement arises from the creativity and inner world of the dancer as a product of the close relationship between movement, bodily appearance, personal experience and temperament of the same.
Her twenties arrive and the distancing from academic dance. She moves to Padua to begin university in Neuro and Psychomotor Therapy of the Developmental Age. There she gets to know Contact Improvisation with the CIP (Contact Improvisation Padova) group and falls in love with dance again. She moves away from DanzEspressive, which she appreciates and still thanks for what it has transmitted to her. She then begins research with respect to improvisation alone and in relation to other bodies. Contact Improvisation and somatic practices support her in questions, insights and assumptions.
In August 2025 she did Michele Marchesani's Tatto Interno training.
Ilaria in her Contact Improvisation journey had the opportunity to meet and dance with Eszter Gál, Charlie Morrissey, Itay Yatuv, Linda Bufali, Leilani Weis, Michele Marchesani, Elisa Ghion, Mirva Makinen, Nina Wehnert, Karen Nelson, Lior Ophir, Joaquín Alfei, Paola Andreatta, Consuelo Pacheco.
In November 2023 from Veneto, her home region, Ilaria moved to Reggio Emilia to work in Child Neuropsychiatry at the ASL. This was an opportunity for her to bring the seed of Contact Improvisation to this city. From here this seed is growing and flourishing thanks to the CÔR (Contact Improvisation Reggio Emilia) group. Programming 2025/2026 includes evening workshops and a monthly workshop.
