Program

Salotto Somatico is an annual program of study and training in dance and somatic practices, which moves in the contemporary sphere. It is divided into three-month modules, which can also be attended on a non-continuous basis. The course includes weekly lectures and intensive workshops, cyclically hosts teachers, artists, and body professionals, with immersive periods of in-depth study and creation. The transmission is divided into theory, practical experience, reflection, and sharing. N n studio time, during exploration and in the dynamic nature of the dance, material is offered so that each participant can receive and apply it, integrating it to his or her own degree of experience. Salotto Somatico contributes to creating a space for interdisciplinary dialogue that encourages a
multifaceted view of the body as a borderland between art, health and life. With this end in mind, it chooses the
somatic practices and the axis syllabus (AS) as root tools implicit to research. Somatic practice enhances internal experience, granting the body an action that emanates from a state of nervous regulation, connection, safety, presence. AS opens to a thorough investigation of movement and its functioning, conveying theoretical information and practical applications that aim at movement efficiency and health. From this foundation, it accesses the dance as to a process of research and transformation that is always alive, in itinere, protecting the value of integrity and the preciousness of the pleasure of moving.

Training includes lectures, workshops AXIS SYLLABUS, CONTEMPORARY AND FLOORWORK, PRESENCE AND CONTACT PRACTICES, SOMATIC PRACTICES AND BODY WORK, IMPROVISATION AND COMPOSITION, CONTACT IMPROVISATION, VOICE-BODY AND WRITING WORKSHOPS.
