November 2026
x Antoine Ragot
Antoine’s workshop explores movement practices through the lens of the Axis Syllabus, a rich body of knowledge that sheds light on the design of the human body and its dynamic potential.
Grounded in the principles of biomechanics, anatomy, and rhythm, our practice will cultivate a deeper sensitivity to gravity, momentum, and relational dynamics in motion.
Throughout the weekend, we will weave together solo and group explorations, as well as technical and improvisational approaches that nurture creativity and intuition.
Contact Improvisation-based practices will serve as one of several entry points into this shared exploration of movement.
Antoine was an athlete throughout his first 20 years of life, and his interest in the body led him to spend two years in medical school, which in turn led him to the University of Sports Sciences, from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree specializing in education and motor skills. He then became involved in dance and various contact improvisation communities throughout France, which helped him bring his interests in the body, movement, and performance together. Today, Antoine brings many years of experience teaching contact improvisation, sports, and early motor development to his meticulous approach to research and the sharing of the Axis Syllabus, for which he is a certified teacher. Antoine is known for his enthusiasm and for inspiring others to embrace the “movement-research-geek-syndrome.” Currently, his research focuses on paleoanthropology and functional morphology, as well as the refinement and development of athletic skills through an interplay between Axis Syllabus research and problem-solving scenarios.
