Writing bodies
Poetry writing and dance workshop
Dance, somatics, writing / Axis syllabus study group
Bologna
Saturday, January 31, 2026
2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
with Elis Mesiani
and Yiskah Jessica
The workshop aims to explore the relationship between body, space/time and writing starting from that place of origin/source from which movement begins. How can I make space and return to that area in my body where there is silence and from which movement originates? How do I translate with writing what I have experienced? How do I put my experience in dialogue with the other's?
In the workshop we will explore how to transpose these experiences through and with movement and poetry writing. Practices of contemplation, improvisation, listening and play will be offered to deepen the research.
We will dance in solo or dialogic contact between bodies, moving between somatic exploration, analysis, deep listening and dynamism. The encounters are divided into moments of theory, application, reflection and sharing, in order to access the complexity of the body in a titular and assimilable way.
Axis Syllabus, somatics, and biodynamic mindfulness nourish this research at its root, and their fruits are implicitly expressed in the dance.
This training is for dancers, actors, artists, and researchers who wish to nurture an investigation of the body in art and performance, enriching their somatic vocabulary and movement practice. For all people, even those with little experience, who wish to encounter the body in terms of knowledge and research, in a safe and non-competitive group field.
Salotto Somatico program orient to a multifaceted view of the body, celebrating a dialogue between art, health and life.
