Somatic geographies
The body as a living territory
Elements of Sensitive Dance®, Somatic Dance, and Contact Dance / Axis Syllabus Study Group
Syracuse
Sat, June 13, and Sun, June 14, 2026
with Yiskah Jessica
and Francesca Ravagnani
A meeting devoted to somatic intelligence and how we can foster its expression through movement.
We will be inspired by the image of the ecosystem, as to an organizing principle of movement, in which the parts influence each other in a relationship of interdependence. In this perspective, we will explore the body as a living territory, made up of communicating, interlinked and interconnected elements: a relational system in constant readjustment.
An opportunity to nurture the skills of coordination, readiness, skill, responsiveness and integrity, in intimate dialogue with the value and benefits that the consequentiality of movement can offer us.
We will dance somatic, anatomical, biomechanical, poetic exploration.
We will open spaces for both subjective and shareable inquiry.
We will move in solo or dialog contact between bodies, alternating moments of experience, analysis, deep listening and dynamism.
The research consists of theory, application, reflection and sharing in order to access the complexity of the body in a titular and assimilable way.
